The eXMP-SynqNet is a stand-alone XMP motion controller designed for embedded high performance applications. The dual-architecture eXMP-SynqNet features an upgradable Intel 366 MHz Celeron CPU and a high-performance Analog Devices 32-bit floating point SHARC DSP.

Separating motion processing and application processing ensures optimum motion performance in demanding applications. Support for Linux, embedded NT, VxWorks®, and other real-time operating systems allows increased functionality for systems level controller tasks. On-board CAN support is also available. The eXMP-SynqNet includes high speed Ethernet TCP/IP communications with system controllers and machine subsystems.
The eXMP-SynqNet supports up to 32 axes of servo or stepper motors across a SynqNet network. And like all XMP-Series motion controllers, the eXMP-SynqNet supports the Motion Programming Interface (MPI), an object-oriented API that lets you create sophisticated, multi-threaded applications in C or C++. The eXMP-SynqNet can also be programmed with the MPX, MEI's ActiveX libraries. The embedded CPU communicates with the DSP via direct memory reads and writes over a 32-bit PCI bus. In addition, eXMP-SynqNet takes full advantage of MEI’s Motion Console and Motion Scope development utilities to configure and debug all axes.

The eXMP-SynqNet provides all the XMP’s advanced capabilities, including flexible control algorithms, and support for a variety of position feedback devices as well as full SynqNet network functionality.
